Hello Players! We will soon be migrating all NC America (formerly NCWEST) player accounts from our existing NCWEST platform to our new PLAYNC platform. Part of this change includes an update to our NC Launcher 2 which will be upgraded to PURPLE, a modern launcher with new features. This guide is to act as a preview to prepare you for when PURPLE launches.

Important: If you do not already have a PLAYNC account, please wait until PURPLE’s launch to sign up. If you register an account now, it will require extra steps to set up during PURPLE’s installation.


NCWEST accounts are those that you currently use to play on NC Launcher 2 for Lineage II, Aion, and Blade & Soul.

PLAYNC accounts are new accounts that will be used on PURPLE. However, you may also have a previous PLAYNC account if you have played mobile NCSOFT games such as Lineage2M, PUZZUP AMITOI or NCSOFT games for PC in other regions like Korea.


For most players, NCWEST accounts will be automatically migrated – it's as easy as logging in!

For some players, migrating your account may require a few additional steps if you have an existing PLAYNC account with the same email address as your NCWEST account – these accounts are conflicting accounts and must be migrated.

1. Once PURPLE is released, all you need to do is open NC Launcher 2 to begin downloading the update. Alternatively, a download link will be available on our channels. 



 

2. Once NC Launcher 2 is open, it will begin updating and downloading PURPLE automatically.



 

3. Once the update / download is complete, you will be prompted to run the PURPLE installer.





4. Follow the prompts to install PURPLE.

5. Once PURPLE has finished installing, the program should automatically open and begin the sign-in process.




6. All accounts using NCA services will now be considered “Global” accounts. Choose the “Global” region from the dropdown menu and click “Next.”




7. You will be prompted to choose a sign-in method. Once you have successfully signed into PURPLE, you may uninstall NC Launcher 2.

 

8. Next, please choose the proper link to a guide below to sign-in, migrate, or create a new account. If you are unsure of your account standing, just start with Guide #1.

 

Guide #1: Non-conflicting Accounts

For current players who do not have previous PLAYNC accounts or do not have PLAYNC accounts under the same email address.

Guide #2: Conflicting Accounts

For current players who do have previous PLAYNC accounts under the same email address as their NCWEST account. This is the “conflicting account” guide.

For new players with no previous accounts or for players that want to create new accounts.

 


 


Guide #1 is for current players who do not have previous PLAYNC accounts.

Welcome returning players! Your accounts will automatically be migrated. You can get right into your favorite games after logging in to PURPLE.


 

1. Open PURPLE or continue from this step from the install instructions. Make sure the “Global” region is selected and then click “Sign in with an email.” All other options you see are for new accounts only.




2. You will now be prompted to sign in. Your previous NCWEST account has already been migrated to a PLAYNC account. Make sure PLAYNC is selected in the dropdown menu and log in using your previous Email Account and Password. That’s it! Welcome to PURPLE!


 

If you have received an error message like the one above, you have either entered an incorrect password or you have a conflicting account. You can check to see if you have a conflicting account by clicking the “select here to check your account status” link in the top of the window. If you find out you have a conflicting account, please proceed to Guide #2.  

 


 



Guide #2 is for current players who
do have previous PLAYNC accounts under the same email address as their NCWEST account. This is the “conflicting account” guide.

If you used the same email address to create your NCWEST account and a PLAYNC accounts (NCSOFT mobile games or other regions like Korea) you will have a conflicting account. You will now need to link your NCWEST account to a new email address. Don’t worry, it’s easy!

Not sure if you have a PLAYNC account? Don’t worry, just follow the steps below!


 

1. Open PURPLE or continue from this step from the install instructions. Make sure the “Global” region is selected and then click “Sign in with an email.” All other options you see are for new accounts only.

 

2. You will be prompted to sign in. To migrate a conflicting account, or to check if you have a conflicting account, try logging into PURPLE using your NCWEST account details.

 

 

3. If you receive an error message like the one above, you have either entered an incorrect password or you have a conflicting account. To migrate your account and to double-check if you have a conflicting account, click the “select here to check your account status” link in the top of the window. Alternatively, you can visit https://id.plaync.com/account-integration/issue to migrate your account. 

 

 

4. Enter your NCWEST account email address and click Confirm.

 

 

5. If you receive a message that your account can be used, you do not have a conflicting account and you can return to Guide #1.

 

6. If you have a conflicting account, you will be prompted to change your account. This means that you have previously used this same email address to create a PLAYNC account.

7. Enter your current NCWEST account password. This same password will be used for your new account.

8. You will now need to choose a new email address to bind your NCWEST account to a new PLAYNC account for your Lineage II, Aion, Blade & Soul characters. WARNING: This cannot be undone once you link your account to a new email address. Please choose your new email wisely.

Your old NCWEST account email address will no longer work after this step. That email address will only work for your previous PLAYNC accounts used for Lineage2M, NCSOFT mobile games, or NCSOFT PC games in other regions like Korea.

9. Enter the new email address you would like to link the new account to and click “Send Verification E-mail”.

 

 

10. Check your email for the verification code and enter it in the verification code field. You will have 10 minutes to enter the code and you may resend the code at any time. Once the code has been entered, click “Change” to finalize the conflicting account process.

 

 

11. Congratulations! Your account has been successfully changed! Click confirm and return to PURPLE to log in with your new PLAYNC account!

 





Guide #3 is for new players with no previous accounts, or for players who want to create new accounts:

Welcome new players! To create a new account and ensure that you can play on our servers and service, please see the guide below.

 

1. Open PURPLE or continue from this step from the install instructions. Make sure the “Global” region is selected at the top right. Click “Sign in with an email.”

 

 

2. Click on “Sign Up” to be taken to the account creation portal.

 

 

3. Choose the method you would like to create your account. For the purpose of this guide, we will be using e-mail. Click “Sign-up with e-mail address.”

 

 

4. You will now have to select the region your account will be registered and locked to. Please choose carefully. If you would like to play on our region’s servers, your new account must be registered from the following regions below:

Lineage II: Live, Classic, Aden
USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines

Aion: Live, Classic

5. Select the region you want your account to be registered with from the dropdown menu. Next, type in your Date of Birth and click “Next.”

 

 

6. Agree to the Terms of Service.

 




7. Enter the email address you would like to use for the new account. Click “Send Verification E-mail.”

 

 

8. Check your email for the verification code and enter it in the verification code field. Click “Confirm Verification Code” to confirm the email. Next, create a password for your new account and click “Next.”

 

 

9. Congratulations! Your new PLAYNC account has been created. Return to the PURPLE launcher and sign-in with your new account to begin playing!

When will PURPLE be released?

What are the computer specifications of the PURPLE launcher for PC?
Operating System: Windows 8.1 or higher
Install File Size: ~350 MB
After Install Size: ~1.4 GB

Will I lose my characters if I don't log in when PURPLE launches? Is there an expiration?
No, you will not lose your characters if you have a non-conflicted account. Those will be ready for you when you log in. If you have a conflicted account, you will still have to resolve it whenever you return someday. Currently we have no plans to purge any conflicting accounts.

The game I want to play isn’t showing up in PURPLE. How do I access it?
If Aion, Lineage II, or Blade & Soul is not showing up, you have registered your PLAYNC account in a region that is not supported. You must create an account that is registered with the corresponding games region. For a list of region compatibility, please see Guide #3.

 

Install

Will I need to reinstall the games once I download PURPLE?
No, PURPLE will detect the games. You will most likely only have a standard weekly patch.

What happens to NC Launcher 2. Can I still use it if I want?
You will not be able to use NC Launcher 2 once we migrate to PURPLE. NC Launcher 2 will stop patching the game and at some point, you will be unable to log in.
After you have installed PURPLE successfully, you may uninstall NC Launcher 2 by going to the Apps / Add or Remove Programs menu in Windows.

What if I have another version of PURPLE installed previously?
In cases where PURPLE was previously installed, you must first log in to PURPLE to allow PURPLE to update itself. PURPLE must update itself because only the "Global" region is available in the new version of PURPLE. You must select the "Global" region to begin the migration process or access our game services.

 

Accounts

What is the difference between NCWEST and PLAYNC accounts?
NCWEST accounts are those that you currently use to play on NC Launcher 2 for Lineage II, Aion, and Blade & Soul.

PLAYNC accounts are new accounts that will be used on PURPLE. However, you may also have a previous PLAYNC account if you have played mobile NCSOFT games such as Lineage2M, PUZZUP AMITOI or NCSOFT games for PC in other regions such as Korea.

I want to see if I have a PLAYNC account, can I test logging in or using forget password on https://www.plaync.com/?
Yes, this should work if you'd like to see if you have a PLAYNC account registered to your email address.

Will I be able to access Aion, Lineage II, Blade & Soul on my older PLAYNC account?

Yes! But keep in mind, if you played these games in the past, that character data is stored on your NCWEST account. Also, your game selection will be determined on what region your previous PLAYNC account was registered with. If it is a European PLAYNC account, you will only see the games available to that country. If you are missing a game, your account has been registered in a region that is not supported by that game.

If I already have a PLAYNC account for playing mobile games or NCSOFT PC games in other regions and a NCWEST account, will I have to maintain two PLAYNC accounts? Or will they be consolidated into one?
Yes. You will be migrating your NCWEST account into a PLAYNC account, while keeping your old PLAYNC account as well. Therefore, you will have two PLAYNC accounts.

What if I have a Lineage2M account and I want to now play other games with that same account in PURPLE?
Your previous PLAYNC account you used for Lineage2M will now have access to Aion, Blade & Soul, and Lineage II. However, your character data for those games will still be stored on your NCWEST account. You will need to migrate your conflicted NCWEST account to access those characters and migrate them to a new email address. Use Guide #2.

I only play Lineage 2. When using the first Log-in screen, can I select Lineage 2 from the dropdown menu instead of the default PLAYNC option?
Although it makes sense that you would choose Lineage 2, this is actually an option for Korean legacy accounts and does not apply to our region. Please choose PLAYNC. Although it is reported that using Lineage 2 is working for some log-ins, we recommend using PLAYNC in the future. We will investigate the source of this Lineage 2 option and try and get it renamed.

I can log in on a web browser, but the Launcher Log-in tells me my password is incorrect, even though I've reset it many times.
We've seen this with some Gmail accounts. Try signing on through the Google icon button at the first log-in screen. This might also be the same with Facebook, Twitter, Apple, etc. We are still investigating this issue.

Why can’t I Multiplay across my accounts?
With our new global account system, you will only be able to Multiplay with newly created accounts from the same region. For example, if you created an account in Brazil and want to use Multiplay, you must continue to create accounts in Brazil in order to Multiplay together with them.

There is one exception: Older NCWEST accounts that have been newly migrated can only Multiplay with newly created US accounts. Again, in order to use Multiplay with older accounts, new accounts must be registered as US accounts.

 

Conflicting Accounts

For conflicting accounts only: I really don't want to bother with having a conflicted account and I don't want to create a new email account. I want to keep the email I have. Can I just delete my older PLAYNC accounts? Will that allow me to no longer be conflicting? Many players prefer deleting their old PLAYNC accounts in order to keep their old email address.
You can log into your PLAYNC account and change your account's email address. Log into PLAYNC, go to My Page, Manage Login, and click Change E-mail. Follow the steps to change your email. This will not make you a conflicting account, as long as it is done before PURPLE is released. There is also an option to delete your account, but we do not recommend this because depending on the options you chose and the release date of PURPLE, your account's data may take time to become non-conflicting.

However, if you created your PLAYNC account using a third-party login such as Facebook, Google, or Apple etc., it may not be possible to change your linked email account.   

I was only able to change my PLAYNC account to a Gmail account. I'm unable to change my email account to a domain using aol.com, mail.com, yahoo.com etc. What should I do?
We have looked into this, and it should now be functional across all accounts. Some domains may be blocked due to other region's standards, but please tag @Rownen in ⁠#purple-chat and you have discovered you are unable to change your PLAYNC email.

What if I have both NCWEST and PLAYNC accounts, but they are under different/separate email addresses?
If you used different email addresses to sign up for NCWEST and PLAYNC accounts, your account will not conflict. Proceed with Guide #1.

I accidentally migrated my account to the wrong email address. What do I do?
Players will be able to change their email address under their new account settings. However, if you do not have access to the current email address, you will need to submit a CS ticket because changing your email address requires receiving a verification code.

I played Lineage 2 Revolution. Does that mean I have a conflicted account? Can I delete the old account?
Lineage 2 Revolution is through Netmarble and not PLAYNC. Your account should not be in conflict.

I played the mobile Aion: Legions of War game in the US. Will my account be conflicting?
This game did not have PLAYNC so your account should not be conflicting.

Why are my characters missing?
This is most likely due to you bypassing the conflicted account migration. Please start here and migrate your conflicting account to a new email address. The link will ask you to check your account status and then guide you through migrating the conflicted account: https://id.plaync.com/account-integration/issue

Why am I getting an Account in Use or Unusable error?
We are still investigating the core cause of this and looking for a solution. As a reminder, certain players cannot migrate their conflicting accounts to new emails and receive this message. Hotmail and Outlook addresses are especially not working currently.

However, we have spoken to many players who migrated to Gmail accounts successfully, when they previously were unable to. If you'd like to try again without waiting for another solution, try migrating to a Gmail account for now.

Why am I getting an Abnormal Access error?
These accounts have been flagged by a protective service and are temporarily blocked for many possible reasons. It is possible your IP has set off the trigger. We are investigating this issue. Please help us escalate these issues by contacting the #game-support channel on our Discord.

 

Currency & Payment

What currency can I expect to see in the Shop? No Canadian currency, correct?
Prices will be shown in USD and dynamic currency conversion will only be supported for Euro and the British Pound.

Will my purchased NCoin automatically transfer?
Yes.

Are prepaid coin codes better to use now or will they work later?
Unused NCoin Codes should continue to function after migration.

Why am I getting Purchase Limit Errors when I try to buy something from the Shop?
Our team has been working with the new Payment Provider to resolve these bugs. Please try to make your purchase again and let us know if you continue to get any Payment Limit messages. If you are still getting Payment Limit messages, please open a ticket in the #game-support channel on Discord.

Why doesn’t the payment processor accept my ZIP code?
If you have a short numerical zip code from a country such as Hungary, you can fix this issue by adding a 0 before the zip code.

Countries like Canada that have letters in their zip codes are having issues. We are looking into this.

Why can’t I Gift in the Lineage 2 Store?
Gifting is currently not available in the new PURPLE Lineage 2 Store due to some current issues. Our team is aware of the popularity of the feature and are working to have it added in the future.

 

Server & Region

Can I still use PURPLE and play games in other regions such as Korea?
If you have a PLAYNC account registered in Korea, you can continue playing games through PURPLE. Make sure the 'Global' region is selected, log in with your Korean registered account, and the game services from Korea will appear.

I am a B&S player from the EU. What if I want to play on the NA server?
For players that want to play on the B&S NA server, they must register their new accounts through the supported countries listed above under B&S NA. The same goes for players who want to play on the EU servers.

What countries support the PURPLE Mobile app?

Why are certain countries left out of the supported countries list?
I don't have an official answer yet, but I believe the supported countries are where we are currently allowed to legally operate.

Will the PURPLE Mobile app be made available outside the currently supported countries?
We are still inquiring as to if the App can be added to App Stores outside our supported countries.

What region do I use to log in?
Log in with the Global region.

The Global region is missing from the Log in screen.
Update the app and Global should appear. Scroll down the list to the G's section.

 

Authorization & Security

I currently use Google Auth / 2FA to log into the game. Do I need to turn this off for account migration?
This should not be an issue, but if you encounter any errors, you can remove 2FA via the NC web account page under the Security section.

Will we still be using the same Email Authorization system for PURPLE?
For now, yes, we are still using the same email authorization system. However, we are looking into why we've been having issues with a few users lately. Standby for an update on that. We will announce it in the main news channel when we have a resolution.
