Massively Covers Truly Free Success Press Release

Massively caught hold of NCsoft's press release last week, which details the success of the Truly Free business model!

Lineage II Goddess of Destruction, one of NCsoft’s most venerated franchises, is seeing massive growth and success with its re-launch as a Truly Free game. Since adapting the new business model two months ago, Lineage II Goddess of Destruction has almost quadrupled its revenue and increased its concurrent player base by more than 800 per cent. Some other exciting milestones for Lineage II players and the new Goddess of Destruction experience include:

  • The number of servers more than doubled to accommodate the influx of new players.
  • More than a quarter of a million players have enjoyed the Path to Awakening service, which provides helpful buffs, items and advice to accelerate new characters towards the level cap.
  • A resurgence of activity in forums as well as Facebook, where Likes soared to more than 280,000 thanks to an active and still growing community

This success can be attributed to the unequaled access that Lineage II Goddess of Destruction offers with the Truly Free business model, and the provision of additional services and consumables for players to enjoy should they desire. Now approaching eight years of service in North America, Lineage II players can look forward to a variety of exciting events and specials in-game to support upcoming content updates.
