Puss the Cat returns to the game with more smashable food items! Thankfully this time we get to smash squashes instead of watermelons. Go hunting, collect nectar, grow squashes, and smash them for rewards inside!

Event Duration

The Summer Squash event runs during the following dates:

July 25 to August 8, 2012: Main event period. Event items drop from monsters.

August 8 to August 15, 2012: Event items no longer drop from monsters. The event NPC remains in town to exchange Nectar for event items.

August 15, 2012: The event NPC leaves the game and the following event-related items are deleted:

* Although the "boxes" are being removed from the game, the jewelry items inside are not. The jewelry items will remain in the game until their 15 day timers expire.

Please be sure to use up all remaining event items and open all Squash jewelry boxes before the maintenance of August 15.

Event Process

1. Obtain Nectar

Go hunting during the main event period to pick up nectar that drops from monsters. Note that the drop rate increases when the server population increases during the server’s peak play hours.

There is also a possibility of obtaining Cloned Squash Seeds and Cloned Large Squash Seeds from monster drops.

2. Obtain Squash Seeds

Speak to Puss the Cat in any major town to trade Nectar for Squash Seeds or Large Squash Seeds. He will also sell you Chrono weapons, which can be used to smash Large Squashes.

3. Summon and Grow a Young Squash

Double-click on a Squash Seed or Cloned Squash Seed in your inventory to summon a Young Squash.
Help the Young Squash grow by using Nectar on it. To do this, target the Young Squash and right-click on Nectar in your inventory.
A squash will disappear 3 minutes after summoning no matter what state it is in, so be sure to cultivate it with Nectar and smash it open before it disappears!
After consuming 5 Nectars, the Young Squash will grow into a Defective Squash, High Quality Squash, or a King Squash. A Large Young Squash will grow into a Defective Large Squash, High Quality Large Squash, or an Emperor Squash. A squash will only evolve once into one of these three possible states, depending on the seed used. After it has evolved, Nectar can no longer be used on the squash, and it is time for the squash to be smashed.

4. Smash Your Squash

A regular Squash can be cultivated and opened by a single player easily.

A Large Squash can be cultivated easily but can only be smashed open with a Chrono Weapon, and it is difficult to open a Large Squash alone. Group up with friends that all have Chrono Weapons and take on the Large Squashes together to ensure that you open it in time.

Rewards

Reward items vary according to the type of squash opened. Large squashes have the best rewards!

When two of the same earrings are equipped, only one effect is applied. Tradable.
Bottle of Antharas’ Soul	Use on an Earring of Antharas to obtain a Blessed Earring of Antharas. Tradable.
Squash Accessory Box (Event)	Contains a random time-limited event-only jewelry item. See the Squash Jewelry list below.
Blessed Scroll (R-Grade) Box	Gives a Blessed Scroll of R(1), R(2), R95, or R99-Grade at random. Tradable.

Squash Jewelry
Squash Accessory Box: contains a random 15-day jewelry item. Squash Accessory Boxes will be removed from the game on August 15. Tradable. Gives one of the following items at random:
Squash Ring Box: Will be removed from the game on August 15. Tradable. Gives one of the following items at random:	Squash Ring – Warrior: Increases P. Critical Rate by 15%, and Accuracy by 2. Lasts 15 days. Cannot be exchanged, dropped, destroyed, or enchanted. When two of the same rings are equipped, only one affect is applied.
	Squash Ring – Magician: Increases M. Critical Rate by 2%, and M. Accuracy by 2. Lasts 15 days. Cannot be exchanged, dropped, destroyed, or enchanted. When two of the same rings are equipped, only one affect is applied.
Squash Earring Box: Will be removed from the game on August 15. Tradable. Gives one of the following items at random:	Squash Earring – Warrior: Increases Atk. Spd. by 4% and Spd. by 5. Lasts 15 days. Cannot be exchanged, dropped, destroyed, or enchanted. When two of the same earrings are equipped, only one affect is applied.
	Squash Earring – Magician: Increases Casting Spd. by 4% and Spd. by 5. Lasts 15 days. Cannot be exchanged, dropped, destroyed, or enchanted. When two of the same earring is equipped, only one affect is applied.
Squash Necklace Box: Will be removed from the game on August 15. Tradable. Gives a Squash Necklace.	Squash Necklace: Increases Sleep, Paralysis, Stun, Poison, and Bleed resistance by 20%. Decreases skill cooldown and skill MP consumption by 5%. Lasts 15 days. Cannot be exchanged, dropped, destroyed, or enchanted.
