Reputation System

The Reputation system is the hand of judgment when it comes to unsanctioned PvP.  Your Reputation score varies according to how often you PvP with other characters outside of pre-determined PvP conditions or areas. It is a sliding scale in which positive levels make a character Lawful, and negative levels make a character Chaotic.

Chaotic Characters:

  • A character is Chaotic when that character’s Reputation level is negative.
  • A Chaotic character’s name appears in red.
  • Every PK a Chaotic character performs between PK levels 0 and 3 gains that character a negative Reputation point. After reaching a PK score of 4, Reputation decreases more sharply.
  • When a character’s Reputation is negative, they can still acquire XP, SP, and Reputation up to a score of 0 by hunting monsters. Reputation can also be gained up to a score of 0 through deaths that involve the loss of XP. (If no XP is lost upon death, no Reputation is gained from the death.)
  • When a Chaotic character with negative Reputation and a PK count of 4 or higher dies, an item destruction penalty applies even to augmented items. (A character with normal Reputation is not affected by the penalty.) The change of item destruction, and the number of items to be destroy, increases according to the character’s PK count, to a maximum of five items destroyed upon a single death.

Lawful Characters:

  • A character is Lawful when that character’s Reputation level is positive.
  • When a Lawful character’s Reputation level reaches the maximum of 500 points, that character’s name appears in green.
  • When a Lawful character kills a Chaotic character, the Lawful character’s Reputation level increases.
  • When a Lawful character kills another character that is not Chaotic, the Lawful character’s Reputation level resets to 0 if their PK count had been 0 before this kill. If their PK count had been 1 or more before killing a non-Chaotic character, Reputation decreases below 0.
  • When a Lawful character kills a character who is 10 or more levels below the Lawful character, no Reputation points are gained even if the character killed is Chaotic.
  • A Lawful character can only receive Reputation points for killing the same Chaotic character once in any 8 hour period.

Item Drop Penalty

The item destruction penalty from the days of yore returns: when a Chaotic character with negative Reputation and a PK count of 4 or higher dies, an item destruction penalty applies to all items. (A character with normal Reputation is not affected by the penalty.) The change of item destruction, and the number of items to be destroy, increases according to the character’s PK count, to a maximum of five items destroyed upon a single death.

Reputation Penalty

The Reputation Penalty is a debuff that increases in intensity proportionally to the character’s PK count. A character with a PK count of 3 or less can only receive a Stage 1 Reputation Penalty, but when the PK count reaches 4 and higher the penalty’s intensity increases proportionally to the character’s Reputation score.
