An Audience with Tauti

The Seed of Hellfire is ruled by Tauti. He is part-golem and part-weapon in the shape of an enormous axe. The axe is one of the weapons of Bremmnon, making Tauti brother to Demonic Sword Zariche. Tauti and his minions empower themselves through mechanical innovations.

Normal Raid Method

The normal Tauti raid fight can be initiated by speaking to NPC Sizrak at the northern end of the Sewers level of the Seed of Hellfire. To enter the battle a command channel of 14 to 35 players must all have the Mark of the Resistance item—acquired from a local daily quest—in their inventory.

The Tauti raid fight is instanced and lasts one hour. It takes place on the Training Grounds level of the Seed, where players must fight the Kunda militia force, and on the fourth floor of the Seed, where players face Tauti himself.

Upon entering the raid on the Training Grounds, players will witness a cutscene depicting a civil war battle between Zofans and Kundas. Although Zofans have greater numbers, the Kundas are much more powerful. Adventurers must join the side of the Zofans lest they be annihilated, and in return the Zofans help the adventurers’ progress to the next stage of the Tauti raid.

In the temple on the Training Grounds floor, the Kunda lords and the Zahak commander wait in the shadows to attack adventurers when they try to reach the entrance to Tauti’s personal floor. When the Zahak commander is defeated he drops the Key of Darkness item (goes to command channel leader if there is one), which is required to enter Tauti’s Temple upstairs. The ally Zofan will help you access Tauti’s Temple (4th floor) but he will remain on the 3rd floor while you go up.

When entering Tauti’s Temple, adventurers find themselves in an antechamber where they may prepare for the raid. If even one person leaves the antechamber and enters the large raid room, the raid room doors close within one minute. When ready, the raid force should enter the raid room together. When the door shuts behind them, the opening sequence of the Tauti battle begins.

The normal Tauti battle takes place over five phases. Over the first three phases, Tauti gradually begins to use more impressive combat skills. In phase four when Tauti has lost over half his health he summons a Zahak commander to boost his own powers. In the final phase of the battle, the Tauti golem has been defeated and only the axe remains, but it still has impressive skills. When the axe is defeated (and if the ally Zofan downstairs are still alive) the raid is successfully completed.

Epic Raid Method

The epic Tauti raid fight can be initiated by speaking to NPC Aku at the southern end of the Sewers level of the Seed of Hellfire. To enter the battle a command channel of 21 to 35 players must all have the Aku’s Mark item in their inventory, which can be obtained while doing quests for Aku himself.

The Tauti raid fight is instanced and lasts 30 minutes. It begins on the Training Grounds level of the Seed and ends at the death of Tauti on the fourth floor, in Tauti’s Temple.

Upon entering the raid on the Training Grounds, the Kundas will be in two formations lining a path through the military area to the ramp to the Zahak temple. Characters must stay on the path created by the Kundas if they want to pass without fighting. If characters leave the path, battle breaks out and it is not possible to proceed with the raid battle until the Kundas are all defeated.

In the temple on the Training Grounds floor, the Kunda commander, Zahak, awaits those that would challenge Tauti. You must get the Key of Darkness item from the Zahak commander in order to access the Tauti raid fight. There are two ways to get the item:

  1. The less aggressive approach requires that the raid group enter the Zahak area of the temple without being in combat, and this allows the Zahak commander to simply give the key to the command channel leader character.
  2. The aggressive approach requires that the Zahak commander and his surrounding minions be defeated, allowing the Key of Darkness to drop from the commanded upon death. If the aggressive approach is taken, a successful Tauti raid will yield better rewards.

The command channel leader must have this item in their inventory and then interact with the Teleport Device to access the fourth floor of the Seed of Hellfire, where the Tauti battle takes place.

The epic Tauti raid battle takes place over five phases. Over the first three phases, Tauti gradually begins to use more and more impressive combat skills, and summons subordinates to join the fight at an increasing rate. In phase four when Tauti has lost over half his health he summons groups of Zahaks to boost his own powers. In the final phase of the battle, the Tauti golem has been defeated and only the axe remains, but it still has impressive skills. When the axe is defeated, the raid is successfully completed.
