Newbie Villages

The racial starting villages have been ruined by rampaging fiends crazed from drinking blood rain, pestilent mist, and the activities of the Earth Wyrm Trasken. After much deliberation, the chiefs of each race decided to abandon their villages. With the approval of King Amadeo Cadmus of Aden, they begin the migration to Talking Island, a place protected by divine power. These refugees rebuilt Talking Island Village, and now all new players start there, regardless of race.

In the Kamael, Orc, Dwarven, Elf, and Dark Elf Villages, all NPCs are gone, and the appearance of these villages is much changed. The villages can still be visited via Gatekeepers and teleport devices, but the former newbie quest series has been removed from the game.

Seed of Annihilation

Recommended Level

Zone Type

85–90

Party Hunting Area

The Seed of Annihilation has been thriving on Shilen’s evil influence in the world. The Seed and all the monsters and raid bosses inside it have become stronger.

Changes to the Seed of Annihilation include:

  • The buffs Efficacy of Strength, Efficacy of Wisdom, and Efficacy of Agility are no longer given in the Seed.
  • New raid instance and boss Istina.
  • New solo instanced dungeon, Battle in the Nursery, in addition to the open party hunting areas of the Seed.

Battle in the Nursery

Recommended Level

Zone Type

85–89

Solo Instanced Dungeon

Battle in the Nursery is a timed, point-based game in the Seed of Annihilation zone. Characters can enter the dungeon by standing in one of two red vortexes outside the main entrance to the Seed of the Annihilation. Inside the Nursery instance, characters speak with the NPC to receive directions and initiate the 20-minute timer. For 20 minutes, characters must collect as many Tissue Residues as they can. The residues are collected automatically from the Failed Creation monsters a character kills.

When a Failed Creation dies, there is a chance it will cast an effect called Energy Regeneration on the character. This effect appears on the buff bar with one of three different countdown timers and can be stacked up to three stages. If the character speaks to the NPC before the effect expires, the NPC converts the effect into more Residues.

While fighting in the Nursery, there is a chance that a Maguen will spawn, steal Residues from the character, and run away. Depending on the number of Residues the Maguen steals, the character may be able to target and attack the Maguen. If the character does this successfully, the stolen Residues and extras are returned as a reward.

After the game timer ends, the character turns in the Residues to the NPC in exchange for Bio Energy Crystals. Crystals can be traded for items by speaking with NPC Kirklan at the Keucereus Alliance Base. After completing this dungeon, a character cannot enter it again for one hour. There is no limit to how many times per day a character can enter the dungeon.

Steam Corridor

  • Emerald Square: A large room under a high ceiling of glass with an underwater view. Nine water strongholds and aggressive monsters are scattered around the square. Characters must destroy each stronghold before they can progress to the next one in order. When a stronghold is destroyed, it kills all the creatures surrounding it. When the last stronghold is destroyed, the door to the raid boss Veridan opens. Veridan exists in double form; the health of each form and their distance from one another change their behavior.
  • Steam Corridor: A series of six corridors built over chasms of lava, which quickly fill with scorching heat and monsters. Characters must storm through the six corridors as fast as possible before the heat becomes unbearable. All of the monsters in a corridor must be killed before a portal to the next corridor opens. Each corridor has traps that characters can trigger. The traps cause area of effect damage to both monsters and characters. After navigating the last corridor, characters enter the final room, where they can defeat the raid boss Kechi. Kechi summons monsters to attack the characters as his health diminishes.
  • Coral Garden: A donut-shaped room containing various monsters and two crystal golems, one on either side of the room. Characters must protect and escort each golem to the other’s location. A golem will be bound to the character who activates it. If a golem is too far away from its bound character or is attacked by monsters too many times, it will return to its starting position. Once the two golems have switched places, the doors at the end of the corridor open and characters can reach the raid boss Michaelo. Michaelo summons minions as her health diminishes.
  • Coral Garden Hall: A bonus stage in which characters must clear four rooms within a time limit. If characters complete the Emerald Square, Steam Corridor, or Coral Garden course, and depending how long the characters took to complete the course, there is a chance that a Crystal Guard Golem will appear and send the characters to this bonus stage. Each of the instances have an on-screen timer that shows how long the characters have been in that instance.

The instance dungeon can be entered by a group of seven characters. Entrance can be gained by using a Crystal Caverns Admission Portal, which can be found in the Crystal Oracle and on Parnassus. The dungeon has no lock-out timer. The Crystal Caverns Admission NPC has been removed from the game.

Crystal Caverns is also home to the raid bosses Baylor and Balok.

Tower of Insolence

Recommended Level

Zone Type

60–75

Party Hunting Area

The blood rain fell on the Tower of Insolence and seeped through the tower walls, reaching the corpses of high sorcerers within and reanimating them as undead. The revived monsters butchered those who were seduced by the fantasies conjured by Shilen's blood, and took over the tower.

The Tower of Insolence has been revamped to be suitable to characters of levels 60 through 75. Monsters in some areas of the zone have been replaced with new ones, including raid bosses for each floor.

  • Vladimir: Floors 1 and 2. After one of Vladimir’s minions is killed, there is a chance of Vladimir himself appearing.
  • Lazearth: Floors 3 and 4. After one of Lazearth’s minions is killed, there is a chance of Lazearth himself appearing.
  • Baron: Floor 5. The death of a certain monster on this floor will trigger an event with a sudden increase in monster spawns. There is a chance that Baron will appear at these times.
  • Frenzied Kenneth: Floors 6, 7, and 8. When Kenneth Bastian is killed, there is a chance that Frenzied Kenneth will spawn.
  • Heaven's Palace Sniper Captain: Floor 9. Appears during the same triggered event as on Floor 5.
  • Emperor of Heaven's Palace and Heaven's Palace Goddess: Floors 10, 11, and 12. These two monsters appear in random places once every hour.

Cruma Tower

Recommended Level

Zone Type

40–55

Party Hunting Area

In their continued study of Cruma Tower, the scholars of the Ivory Tower have experienced an increase in work-related injuries while their researchers travel between the tower’s many floors. As a solution, the scholars began to install elevators inside Cruma Tower.

All former Gatekeepers in Cruma Tower have been replaced with Ivory Tower Wizards who offer quests and teleportation to floors on which the elevator does not stop. More monsters of level 50 through 55 have been added to the zone.

Two new raid bosses have been added to the 2nd floor of Cruma Tower:

  • Accencio: This raid boss prompts characters who approach for proof that they are human. He gives a hint about a human action or emotion. If a character responds with the correct emote quickly enough, Accencio’s HP will automatically be reduced by half. With or without the HP reduction, Accencio must be killed within one minute or he will despawn.
  • Malicio: This raid boss teleports to another location when a character approaches, or attacks after he’s been in that spot for a while. Malicio has many set teleport locations on the various bridges around the area. When he arrives at a new location, there is a brief period of vulnerability while he charges up his teleport skill. When a character successfully engages Malicio in battle, Malicio must be killed within one minute or he will despawn.

Windmill Hill, Ruins of Agony, Ruins of Despair, and Wastelands

Recommended Level

Zone Type

20–40

Solo Hunting Area

These areas have been revamped as a continuation of the newbie quest series and of the story of the Goddess of Destruction. The terrible monster Sakum from Ye Sagira was summoned by an unknown organization to the peaceful land of Windmill Hill. However, Sakum went berserk and annihilated the organization that summoned it. Freed from its shackles, Sakum disgorged little clones of itself in the Ruins of Despair and Ruins of Agony to absorb life energy, and hid its main body in the Wastelands.

The appearance and geography of each of these areas has changed and the areas contain some new monsters. The raid bosses Iris and Goya can be found in the Wastelands. They are suitable for characters of around level 40.

Shilen’s Garden

With the construction of the Altar of Evil, west of the Dark Elf Village, the area in between the two sites is now populated with the same high-level creatures that haunt the altar.

Bloody Swampland

Recommended Level

Zone Type

87–90

Solo Hunting Area

Formerly known as the Swamplands, the Bloody Swampland is saturated by dark red mist and black blood, which permeate even the deepest reaches of the marsh. Powerful monsters, drawn to the stench of blood, occupy the area. At night, a swarm of pestilent bugs sometimes appears.

Forbidden Gateway

Recommended Level

Zone Type

95–99

Shilen’s Altar has been constructed inside the structure of the Forbidden Gateway. The outdoor area swarms with high-level monsters that are drawn to the blood power inside. The raid bosses Half and Flint can be found here.
