Qeunce of the Gustin Server |
It was midsummer. Qeunce’s clan, the High Templars, were having their annual Arena tournament. The tournament was to determine the next clan leader. Qeunce, Torkrin, Fumasakiyuki, and Inferi were in the lead. The next match was between Fuma and Inferi. “Everyone to the arena. Challengers, please go to your assigned starting points,” said the announcer. “Our opponents are Inferi, a Spellhowler, and Fumasakiyuki, a Shilien Templar,” explained the announcer. “Here we go, 3...2...1... Fight!” yelled the announcer. Fuma ran towards Inferi, keeping her sword at the ready. Inferi was preparing with ‘buffs’ when Fuma struck him with her sword. The Shilien Templar swung her sword at her opponent. “I’ve got you now!” said Inferi. The Spellhowler let loose a Hurricane spell, followed by a Shadow Flare. Fuma desperately put her shield up to defend herself from the attacks. The Hurricane knocked the shield out of Fuma’s grasp. “Ahh!” yelled Fuma. The shadow flare hit Fuma hard in the chest. Pieces of Fuma’s Heavy Doom Plate armor cracked.
“Take this!” yelled Fuma, as she let loose a Drain Health on Inferi. He dropped to the floor gasping. “I...Give!” gasped Inferi out of breath. A female elf walked into the arena. She grasped Fuma’s hand and raised it. “Fuma is the winner!” she yelled. The entire arena grounds shook with excitement.
“I didn’t lose! I was caught off …guard…” replied Inferi. “Right” said Qeunce. “Torkrin! Hey, ready for a butt-whooping? Our match is next!” yelled Qeunce from the other side of the arena. Torkrin was gearing up, putting on his Blue Wolf robes. He looked up in confusion. “Hey you hear that?” said Torkrin to his human friend Casinova, a Hawkeye. Qeunce frowned angrily. “…I hate that guy….” said Qeunce under his breath. “Ok, ladies and gentlemen! The next match is about to start! These next opponents are good friends. Each is a Dark Elf and skilled in their careers. This battle is between their wit, talent, and skill with their abilities! Fighters go to your start points! Our opponents are Qeunce, the Shilien Templar, and Torkrin, the Shillien Elder and Hawkeye!” declared the Announcer. “Ready?! Fight!” yelled the announcer. Torkrin nocked an arrow and pointed it towards Qeunce. Qeunce raised his shield and sword in the battle position. He had his Dragon Slayer sword sheathed on his back. They both hesitated awaiting their opponents' moves. Torkrin was calculating in his head how much mana he would have to put into his spells to make it toward Qeunce, and for it to be an effective hit. Qeunce stay poised, waiting in place like a statue. The entire arena was silent except for the monster racing track next to the arena. A bird flew over head and Torkrin made the mistake of looking up. Qeunce seized the moment by charging at Torkrin. Torkrin let loose the arrow he had nocked. It whistled in the air. The arrow had a dark hue, almost like death incarnate. Qeunce was stunned. The arrow hit his shield and knocked him backwards. When he came back to his senses, Qeunce saw the arrow embeded deep into his shield. He darted towards Torkrin; he muttered a few words, then everyone heard a loud roar. Suddenly, a strider jumped into the battle.
Qeunce threw his weapons to the ground. He grabbed the Dragon Slayer sword on his back, grasping it with both hands, and waited for Torkrin. His opponent started one of his summoning abilities. A bright light flashed and a Hatchling joined in the fray. “Your Hatchling? Against my Red Strider?! Surely you're joking? Your Hatchling could not stand up against my Strider!” barked Qeunce. “Die!” yelled Torkrin in reply. He used another Hurricane, this time against Qeunce’s Strider Ragnier. His Strider brushed off the attack with ease. “Cute! Now it’s my turn!” replied Qeunce. He used a Drain Health on Torkrin’s Hatchling. “Ragnier! Kill it!” commanded Qeunce. Ragnier ran towards Torkrin’s Hatchling.
“Hey keep your attention on your opponent!” yelled Qeunce. He dealt Torkrin an upper-cut with the edge of his Dragon Slayer blade. Torkrin was knocked back, his chin bruised and bloodied. A trickle of blood ran down his neck from the wound. ‘I’m out of mana, all I can do it stall or try and fight him with my bow, yeah that’ll work’ said Torkrin in the back of his head. He nocked another arrow and shot it. Qeunce blocked the arrow with his sword and leapt into the air with a spin, slashing at Torkrin again. Torkrin fell to the ground, hitting the dirt ground hard. “I give! I can’t take any more attacks. I’m in unbelievable pain! Please!” yelled Torkrin in agony. Qeunce smiled and gave a hand out to Torkrin to help him up. Torkrin took his friends hand and grabbed it. “Ha-ha!” laughed Torkrin. He grabbed both of Qeunce’s hands, “I got you!” said Torkrin. “No, I got you!” replied Qeunce with a whisper. He twisted his wrists and snatched both of Torkrin’s wrists. “Give up….. Or I will do it for you…..” said Qeunce. “I give! I give! Qeunce is too much for me to defeat! I withdraw from the tournament!” yelled Torkrin. “Qeunce is the winner!” yelled the announcer. Qeunce helped his friend up, and walked him to the their tent, “The next match is between you and Fuma tomorrow… You worried?” asked Torkrin. Qeunce looked up at him and grinned. “Not…at…all”. A woman walked into the tent with Torkrin’s Hatchling, “He's alright” she said. |

Qeunce was leaning against the score board, his Nightmare armor glinting in the light. His blood-red Nightmare shield and Dark Legion Sword both dug into the ground leaning against the pole beside him. He had one hand on his Dragon Slayer sword which was tucked into its sheath. “So... you lost to a girl…” chuckled Qeunce.
“No!” yelled Torkrin. He cast a Shadow Flare at Ragnier, but it was too late. Ragnier had already attacked his Hatchling.
